Bastrop County has been my home since childhood, and today I'm proud to be raising my family in the same community I've served for nearly two decades. Over the past 19 years, my career has spanned Corrections, service as a Deputy Sheriff, and judicial experience as both Associate Judge for the City of Smithville and Justice of the Peace for Precinct 2.
I perform magistrate duties ensuring individuals are informed of their rights, setting bail, and establishing conditions that help protect victims and the wider community. I also fulfill the statutory responsibilities of a coroner.
My professional background, strengthened by my educational qualifications, reflects a lifelong commitment to fairness, accountability, and public service. Together, these experiences position me as a strong and capable candidate for this office.

BEGAN
Zachary began his career in corrections, gaining ground-level understanding of the criminal justice system. This experience provided critical insight into rehabilitation, consequences, and the human side of justice.
THE COMMUNITY
Serving in law enforcement deepened Zachary's knowledge of criminal procedure, constitutional rights, and public safety. He protected and served while building the legal expertise essential for a Justice of the Peace.
COURTROOM
Municipal court experience gave Zachary direct exposure to civil proceedings, court administration, and serving the public within a judicial setting, managing dockets while ensuring everyone was treated fairly.
